Welcome to Sweet and Savre
First and foremost, thank you. Thank you for choosing to listen, for leaning in, and for wanting to hear the stories of truly remarkable women — the kind whose lives are powerful, layered, and deeply meaningful, yet so often untold or unrecognized.
We live in a world where we constantly hear about celebrities, royalty, and whoever happens to be making headlines. And while there’s space for that, the women I find the most fascinating are the ones who don’t always get the spotlight. The prop masters on television sets. The makeup artists and costume designers. Teachers. Therapists. Film producers. Psychologists. Housekeepers. Firefighters. The women working behind the scenes, holding families, communities, and entire productions together.
What I crave — and what this podcast is about — is something more honest. I want to talk to the women who aren’t performing. The women who have truly lived. The women whose winding roads, unexpected turns, triumphs, heartbreaks, pivots, and passions brought them to where they are today.
Because the truth is, most of us aren’t celebrities. And in my experience… you probably wouldn’t want to be. What we are, though, is human. We all begin somewhere — in a town, in a family, in circumstances we didn’t choose. And from there, life unfolds in the most extraordinary, unpredictable ways. I am endlessly fascinated by those journeys.
The name Sweet n Savre? Well, yes — there’s a little nod to my last name (why not?). And I do love food. Truly love it. So of course it had to be part of this. After discovering during the first episode that microphones and food can very quickly turn into an accidental ASMR experience, we now save the bites for the end — along with a rapid-fire round where I decide if my guest is sweet or savory.
(Though between us… we’re all a little bit of both.)
Because that’s life, isn’t it? The sweet moments. The savory ones. The joy and the grief. The funny, the tragic. The ups and the downs. It’s all of it together that makes life rich.
My hope is that through these conversations, we get to know these women more deeply. That we get to know each other more deeply. That we begin to understand the world around us with a little more compassion, curiosity, and connection.
I’m so grateful you’re here. I hope you enjoy this journey as much as I do.
Thank you so much.
Stay tuned. Stay curious. Stay sweet and savory.
With love,
Danielle
